GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. In an era of global crisis and disconnection, we need new rituals to connect us. As the world's largest giving movement, we believe we can go further, faster. GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity and equity around the globe. We believe that generosity leads to greater civic participation and other pro-social behaviors. Our mission is to build a more just and generous world. |
After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, join us for Giving Tuesday on December 1 to join our community in sharing the power of generosity. Together, we show our strength by giving — and doing — what we can for each other. This is our day to harness the power of all with #GivingTuesday402, powered by SHARE Omaha. This year we are raising money and awareness for the Holy Family Street Outreach program. For decades, Holy Family Church used their vans to distribute food and some other basics needs such as toilet paper and laundry detergent to people throughout east Omaha.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul Omaha is continuing that tradition and has added several senior housing towers and would like to expand even further into North Omaha. We would love to be able to have all three vans full every weekday and meeting more of our neighbors’ needs. You can support us in many ways:
